Dave Mockaitis here, astrologer and graphic designer in Amsterdam. My intention with this webspace is to provide images and astrological insight.  I’m fascinated by symbol systems, cross-cultural archetypes, and the practices and images that excite individuals to embody their natal charts and embrace their fates.

I hold a degree in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a diploma in Theoretical and Applied Cosmic Cybernetics from the Avalon School of Astrology, the only physical and accredited school of astrology in the United States.

My interests lie in integrating Harmonics and traditional astrology within the client-centered consultation. Additionally, I’m involved with investigating the Sabian symbols and the metaphorical underpinnings of astrology. I use the amazing Sirius software from Cosmic Patterns.

I have been fortunate to study and learn from several contemporary leaders in astrology including Katarina Campagnola, David Cochrane, Demetra George, Michelle Gould, Dennis Harness, and Lee Lehman, Ph.D. to name a few.  I’m a member of the Association for Young Astrologers, the Association for Astrological Networking and the International Society for Astrological Research.

In addition to astrology, I practice collage. Combining dumpstered magazines with ephemera,  my work re-imagines print media in symbolic and archetypal forms.  These pieces embody astrological and mythological tropes to create a space that puts the viewer in contact with the collective unconscious.
